About
Quinn was born in Gainesville, Florida, and raised in a small northern Florida town. She has been an avid reader since age four. Her first foray into writing came a few years later when she began keeping a journal of her childhood adventures and friendships. As a teenager she was given a copy of Toni Morrison’s Tar Baby to read and review for the school librarian. It was then that she knew she had stories to tell. A few years later she decided to try her hand at writing a novel. With about 100 pages written she got side-tracked by college and put it away. A year or so later she decided to take a creative writing class and began a complicated dance with the writing life. Through three degrees, numerous teaching jobs and many other life altering experiences, she has continued to write creative and complex stories that celebrate life and love and all that lives in between.
Presently, she is completing a novel about jazz musicians. This blog is her way of sorting out all the things that cloud the mind when writing and rewriting a novel.
